NAVY VETERAN
As an Employee Relations & Career Development Consultant, much of my knowledge and expertise exudes from my career as a federal Human Resource Specialist of 20+ years. I am a veteran of the United States Navy, where I honorably served for ten years, five months, and 16 days (I’ll never forget those numbers!). I hold a bachelor's degree from Saint Leo University, a well-known and veteran-friendly educational institution, in HR Management with a minor in Psychology.
I founded Alisha D. Brown Career Consulting, LLC DBA AD Brown Consults, utilizing the in-depth view of the transition an individual takes from employee to supervisor. I am hyper-focused on first-time and aspiring supervisors giving them support on their leadership journey.
As a woman veteran, I know first-hand the challenge of transitioning from one career space to another, but most specifically from an employee to a leadership role. I distinctly remember not having a bona-fide and readily available support system during the career transition. This is extremely critical for anyone in a leadership capacity to grow.
I am a firm believer that authentic leadership can be accomplished provided the right tools and resources are made available. It gives me great joy to be a resource for first-time and aspiring supervisors showcasing the most realistic success story for them to exemplify.
